Thoughts on writing

I was browsing through some of my files over at mum's laptop. I checked the folder which has all my essays in it, and after I've read all of them, I thought, wow - these were written two years ago, at my sixteenth year, but they were written well. Better, even, than the way I write now.

Actually, I haven't written anything serious since I stepped into college; all my immortalized thoughts were my ramblings (which I publicize through this blog). I haven't written anything about the Filipino culture, about the ideology of things, about philosophical ruminations, since I graduated. And this makes me disappointed with myself, as essays such as those that I've mentioned are really fun to read (it's nice to see how my thoughts formed in the progress of time).

Since I've got lots of time in my hands this summer, I'm going to try to write every single day, not only for the sake of saving my talent, but also to make me a smarter, more well-rounded person. It's amazing how writing can make you think hard and, in the process, make you more intelligent.

Updates!

Before writing this post, I took a trip down memory lane and viewed 2 of my previous blogs. My, was I a good writer back then. If you compare it with the way I write now, it may look to you like I've given up on writing. XD

I want to give a long long update on how my life is right now. But when I think about how I'm doing so far, I don't feel like blogging anymore. HAHA. Tragic -_- But yes, I shall give a less-than-painful update on how things are coming along:

1. Studies. Catching up. Don't want to talk about it anymore.

2. Friends. It's amazing how my clique, since my 18th birthday party, has become much closer. Well, not exactly all of us that's in the circle - just Joan, Jenny, Shan, and me. We never fail to see each other at least once or twice a week.

It never fails to amaze me how I've become so comfortable with them. I feel so at home in their company that silence isn't awkward anymore - I don't have to think of anything to say just so we could bond.

3. Family. A while ago, mum got into a car accident. A 10 wheeler truck hit her car, and due to her shock she stepped on the gas and hit a jeepney. I thank God mum's safe; though her car is in a very bad condition (not exaggerating), she wasn't hurt.

I think my grandpa had something to do with this. He really is our angel now. I thank the Lord, and I thank Lolo. Lolo, I love you very, very much.

4. Love. Not so sure at the moment, so I'll leave this blank.

5. Vacation. We'll be going to either Hong Kong or Bohol this summer. And if I pass the interview, I'll be spending a month in New York to have fun with my cousin and my friend, Bea :)

Holy, I should write more often. Must not let go of my writing skillz.

I miss Blogger

I miss writing. And I obviously am not as good a writer now as I was before because of my laziness. I have a harder time detailing my ideas,...
